The 40 yard is our largest container, sized for the biggest jobs we handle — major demolition, large-scale construction sites, and commercial fit-outs that generate a heavy, steady volume of debris over the course of a project. It’s the size contractors reach for when a 30 yard would mean too many swaps mid-job.
At 22ft long by 7.5ft wide by 8ft tall, the 40 yard holds roughly 12 pickup truck loads of debris. Same footprint as our 30 yard, with even more wall height for maximum capacity where floor space is limited.
Weight allowance runs 5–6 tons, our highest capacity, built for the volume and weight of debris that major demolition and large construction projects produce — framing, drywall, masonry, and general job-site waste all in one container.

What Doesn’t Fit / Weight Considerations
The 5–6 ton allowance is our highest, but demolition debris heavy in concrete, brick, or masonry can still reach that limit — discuss your material mix with us when booking so we can advise on weight and avoid overage surprises. Electronics, asbestos-containing material, and hazardous items are never permitted in the 40 yard or any other size; on major demolition of older Chicago buildings, an asbestos survey may be warranted before work begins.

Major demolition on Chicago’s older housing stock is exactly where asbestos concerns are most real — older plaster, flooring, and insulation can contain it, and it must be handled by a certified abatement contractor rather than tossed in the dumpster. For qualifying commercial and demolition projects, Chicago’s Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling Ordinance also requires at least 50% of recyclable C&D debris to be recycled, and we can point you toward the documentation that requirement calls for.
